About Us

Our Mission

Trained To Grow Inc. (TTG Inc.) is an organization established for the purpose of empowering and equipping Madison’s youth to become the leaders of their generation. TTG Inc.’s mission is to give youth the support, confidence and resources to excel in every area of life. TTG Inc. focuses on developing youth intellectually, emotionally, academically and mentally.

Our Vision

Trained To Grow Inc. fully dedicates time and effort into encouraging, empowering and supporting youth. Through the benefit of new relationships and character building projects, the youth of TTG Inc. will learn important moral and leadership qualities that will help them thrive in a positive environment. TTG Inc. programs are designed to meet the needs of challenge deprived youth who lack an abundance of healthy support systems, strong guidance, and positive encouragement.

The main objectives include:
      1. Providing a safe, healthy, and healing environment
for youth.
       2. Work with youth to identify valuable skills to build healthy habits and independent living.
       3. Supply youth with the tools for academic success.
       4. Provide life-skills training.
       5. Provide business training and entrepreneurial opportunities.
       6. Provide recreational and nature opportunities to  encourage alternative thinking.

Our target group is youth between the ages of 12-18 in/or transitioning out of legal custody (or at risk). We hope to collaborate with other youth services to guarantee that said youth have an opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. We alone cannot provide everything needed for our youth, it takes us all to ensure all needs are met.

Felix Giboney IV

Felix’s passion is mentoring and youth development. He is first and foremost a father, big brother, and community servant. Born and raised in Memphis, he was involved as a young adult in the criminal justice system. He moved to Madison and began to connect with re-entry work in our community and paying the work forward.

He displays compassion and non judgment, but carries the social capital, content knowledge and skill sets to listen to youth and walk with them to meet their own needs. Felix has worked with youth in elementary, middle, and high school to manage and overcome trauma, develop leadership skills, navigate systems, and hone in on their personal, academic and career goals. His orientation toward solutions and “doing it together” makes him effective and trans-formative.

Many people use the term at-risk. I prefer to call them talent concealed youth. All of us have something inside of us that is a true talent. I think many of our youth have not had the opportunity to or sometimes even the want to try to pursue that talent, to see what it is and to maximize it. I help our talent concealed youth understand their worth and seek to find their passion and pursue it forward.
